Baseball Recap: Northridge Comes Up Short

Northridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 13-1 to the Johnnies when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brice Beaver was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Will Higgins also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Northridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Johnstown-Monroe, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northridge will head out to take on Granville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Aces' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they will square off against Watkins Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Johnnies surely won't give up without a fight.
