Baseball Game Preview: Chase Trojans vs. Chesnee Eagles

The Chase Trojans will head out to face off against the Chesnee Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chase has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight losses, while Chesnee will come in with six straight victories.

On Wednesday, Chase came up short against North Henderson and fell 11-8. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly three runs.

Meanwhile, Chesnee put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Blacksburg as Chesnee made off with a 10-0 win. Considering the Eagles have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chesnee pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chase, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Everything went Chase's way against Chesnee when the teams last played back in March of 2023, as Chase made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chase since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
