Volleyball Recap: Menlo School Beats Mercy for Their Third Straight Victory + How To Watch

Menlo School had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Mercy on Tuesday. The Knights put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Knights as they're now sitting on three straight.

While Menlo School won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-18, 25-22.

Menlo School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Wang, who had 17 digs and one assist. Wang is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamie Johnson, who had ten aces and four digs.

Menlo School was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mercy lost, don't look at Alyssa Trehan. Despite the final result, she had seven digs and two aces. Juliette Escobar was another key player, getting ten digs.

Menlo School's record now sits at 10-16. As for Mercy, they dropped their record down to 9-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Menlo School and Mercy will both be playing Notre Dame the next time they take the court. The Bears will head out to face the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
