Basketball Recap: Fort Calhoun Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Fort Calhoun had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Nebraska City by a score of 62-51. For Fort Calhoun, this counts as revenge for the 68-65 win Nebraska City walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Kade Foy had a dynamite game, shooting 55% from the field to rack up 21 points and three steals. Those three steals gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Bentley, who went 6-for-7 on his way to 14 points and five boards.

Nebraska City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Fort Calhoun has already played their next game, a 67-44 loss against Syracuse on the 6th. As for Nebraska City, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Ralston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
