West Anchorage is 8-2 against Eagle River since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The West Anchorage Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Eagle River Wolves at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

West Anchorage is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Bettye Davis East Anchorage, who was ranked first at the time (West Anchorage was ranked 24th). West Anchorage took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bettye Davis East Anchorage on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Eagle River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by Chugiak 72-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolves have suffered against the Mustangs since February 26, 2020.

West Anchorage's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Eagle River, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Everything came up roses for West Anchorage against Eagle River when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 79-50 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Anchorage since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
