Softball Recap: Covington Buccs vs. Bethel Bees
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Covington). They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Bethel Bees on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Covington got a massive performance out of Jayda McClure, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those five RBI gave McClure a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Hartwig, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Covington hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Covington pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.
