Baseball Recap: Gooding Find Success

After losing to North Fremont the last time they met, Gooding decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Senators came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 6-1 on Friday.

Eli Esterbrook made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over six innings pitched. Esterbrook was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zaeden Gonzales, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Tyson Arnold was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Gooding was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Gooding now has a winning record of 4-3. As for North Fremont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Gooding wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-4 victory against Salmon on the 4th. As for North Fremont, they will head out on the road to square off against West Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
