Baseball Game Preview: El Dorado Golden Hawks vs. West Linn Lions

The El Dorado Golden Hawks will take on the West Linn Lions in a tournament on Wednesday. El Dorado is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

El Dorado is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Sprague on Monday as El Dorado made off with a 17-4 victory. Considering the Golden Hawks have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Brandon Kubota looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February.

On the hitting side, El Dorado let Aiden McNaughton and Brady Abner run wild. McNaughton went 2-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Abner scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave Abner a new career-high. Diego Gonzalez was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

El Dorado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, West Linn was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. John Bosco. The loss was the Lions' first of the season.

El Dorado pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for West Linn, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
