Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain View Bears vs. Dacula Falcons

Mountain View is 2-8 against Dacula since September of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bears will host the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mountain View came up short against Buford on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-5, 25-8.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Dacula took on Collins Hill on Tuesday. The Falcons fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-17 in the first set.

Dacula actually scored more points across those five sets (104-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23, 15-10.

Mountain View will have to keep a close watch on Brianna Ortiz and Adelyne Yang, a pair of players who had a big impact on Dacula's prior game. Ortiz had 11 digs and six assists, while Yang had six digs and three aces. Nia White also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Dacula's loss dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-26.

Mountain View suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Dacula in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
