Basketball Recap: Sandoval Comes Up Short

Sandoval and Dieterich squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Sandoval had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Dieterich Movin Maroons 89-40. While losing is never fun, the Blackhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 574th, while the Movin Maroons are ranked 183rd).

Sandoval's defeat dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Dieterich, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 24-7.

Sandoval does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dieterich, they will head out on the road to take on Farina South Central at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dieterich knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Farina South Central likes a good challenge.
