Baseball Recap: Denver East Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Denver East waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Montbello Warriors a 10-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-5 back in April.

Not much got past Jacob Wilkerson, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Montbello off the board. Wilkerson also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Denver East is 5-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Denver East got a massive performance out of Jack Lohmeyer, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave Lohmeyer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Manley, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

The victory got Denver East back to even at 11-11. As for Montbello, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Denver East nor Montbello have any future games scheduled.
