Preview: New Milford Green Wave vs. Immaculate Mustangs
New Milford is 1-9 against Immaculate since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The New Milford Green Wave will head out on the road to take on the Immaculate Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
New Milford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of Cheshire by a score of 63-61. The match was a 28-28 toss-up at halftime, but New Milford couldn't quite close it out.
New Milford's defeat came about despite a quality game from Ryan Esposito, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Esposito has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Armani Checo, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Immaculate didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bethel on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 65-59 win.
New Milford's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Immaculate, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
New Milford came up short against Immaculate in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 57-44. Can New Milford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
