There's no place like home for Smith-Cotton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Marshall Owls on Saturday. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Owls recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Smith-Cotton easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-8.

Alle Case paced Smith-Cotton's offense, picking up eight kills. Case got some help from Taylor Pinkel and her 13 assists. Pinkel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Smith-Cotton's victory bumped their record up to 8-11-2. As for Marshall, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Smith-Cotton has already played their next matchup, a 1-1 tie against Santa Fe on the 27th. As for Marshall, they will challenge Chillicothe at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
