Basketball Recap: Hastings Takes a Loss

Hastings lost against Elkhorn back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hastings Tigers lost to the Elkhorn Antlers on the road by a 59-45 margin.

Elkhorn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Peter Howard led the charge by going 5 of 11 to rack up 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nixon Farmer, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Hastings dropped their record down to 9-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Elkhorn, their record now sits at 8-9.

Looking ahead, Hastings will welcome Waverly at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hastings is facing Waverly at the right time seeing as Waverly is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Elkhorn, they will head out to square off against Skutt Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th.
