Volleyball Recap: Ulysses Takes a Loss

Ulysses was the 3-1 winner over Wichita County when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Indians on Monday. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 25-14 in the first set.

Ulysses actually scored more points across those four sets (90-89), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22.

Wichita County found their leader in freshman Emerson Biermann, who had 12 digs. Those 12 digs set a new season-high mark for Biermann.

Ulysses' defeat dropped their record down to 10-17-1. As for Wichita County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-15.

Looking ahead, Ulysses will be playing in front of their home fans against Holcomb at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wichita County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Sublette on the 7th.
