Basketball Recap: Lakeside Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Lakeside extended their home winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Payton Futch. The Lakeside Rams came out on top against the Benton Panthers by a score of 57-44 on Friday thanks in part to Futch, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lakeside's points.

Ava Allison was another key player, putting up 11 points. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Lakeside is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Benton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.

Lakeside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-40 win against Lake Hamilton on the 27th. As for Benton, they will square off against Hot Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Benton is facing Hot Springs at the right time seeing as Hot Springs is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
