Recap: Delavan Panthers vs. Elmwood Trojans
The Delavan Panthers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 34-21 win over Elmwood. Given Delavan's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Elmwood is ranked 425th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Delavan can attribute much of their success to Alex Seaton, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds. Zach McLean was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 7 rebounds.
Delavan's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Elmwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Delavan is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Tremont at 5:30 p.m. on December 5th. Tremont will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Elmwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bushnell-Prairie City at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
