Baseball Recap: New Milford Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

New Milford and Berlin squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but New Milford had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Redcoats by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Green Wave's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Ben Lasser was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits.

New Milford has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Berlin, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

While New Milford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
