Baseball Recap: Chalker Falls to St. John in First Game of Season

Chalker unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the St. John Fighting Herald on Wednesday, falling 21-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Fighting Herald: they've now lost six in a row.

Bobby Prowitt was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The win (which was St. John's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Chalker will take on rival Lordstown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. John is set to face off against their familiar foe Mathews at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
