Baseball Recap: Villa Grove Takes a Loss

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond hit Villa Grove with a five-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost four in a row.

Villa Grove saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Clark, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Jesse Gire also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Villa Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
