Preview: Brighton Cardinals vs. Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs
The Brighton Cardinals will be playing at home against the Raleigh-Egypt Pharaohs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Brighton pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Millington Central. Brighton has not had much luck with Millington Central recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite their loss, Brighton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jayla Jones, who scored 21 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Destiny Pruitt, who scored 13 points along with six assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Raleigh-Egypt's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their 12th straight loss. They were outmatched by Brighton on the road and fell 52-3.
Brighton's loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Raleigh-Egypt, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.
