Baseball Recap: Indian Hills Find Success

The Indian Hills Braves were able to grind out a solid victory over the Ridgefield Park Scarlets on Friday, taking the game 12-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Braves.

Ryan Albora looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Ryan Hurley was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. He has become a key player for Indian Hills: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. LJ Renshaw also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Indian Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgefield Park struck out seven times.

Indian Hills' record now sits at 9-7. As for Ridgefield Park, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 9-6 record.

Looking ahead, Indian Hills is taking a road trip to square off against Hudson Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Braves are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Ridgefield Park, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cresskill at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.62 runs per game on average), something the Scarlets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
