Recap: Brewer Bears vs. Guyer Wildcats
After a string of seven wins, the Brewer Bears's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to Guyer.
Brewer's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Perez, who scored 18 points. Perez scored a full 40.9% of Brewer's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyren Mitchell, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
Brewer's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Guyer, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Brewer's road trip will continue as they head out to face Seagoville at 10:30 a.m. on December 1st. Seagoville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 314 points over their last five matches. As for Guyer, they will take on Mesquite at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Mesquite will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 718th, while Guyer is ranked 27th).
