Basketball Recap: Lyle/Pacelli Comes Up Short

Lyle/Pacelli lost to Southland back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Athletics were dealt an 88-53 defeat at the hands of the Rebels. While losing is never fun, the Athletics can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Rebels are ranked 62nd).

Lyle/Pacelli has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Southland, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lyle/Pacelli will challenge rival Lanesboro at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southland is set to square off against their familiar foe LeRoy-Ostrander at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
