Basketball Recap: Apollo Falls to Higley in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Apollo had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the Higley Knights and fell 61-14. The loss continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Higley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayla Freeman out in front who shot 86% from the field en route to 13 points and four steals. Cadence Murdough was another key player, going 6-for-11 on her way to 12 points and seven boards.

Apollo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-13 victory against Browne on the 21st. As for Higley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 109-12 win against ALA - Queen Creek on the 21st.
