Recap: Odessa Bronchos vs. Frenship Tigers

The Odessa Bronchos pushed their score all the way to 49 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against Frenship, falling 77-49. Odessa has struggled against Frenship recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Odessa's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Mikey Cota, who threw for 347 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 71.8% of his passes. Cota is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Ivan Carreon did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 115 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Hudson Hutcheson, who threw for 377 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Hutcheson is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last five games he's played. Leyton Stone was in the mix as well, providing Frenship with two touchdowns.

Odessa's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Frenship, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Odessa will be playing at home against Midland Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Midland Legacy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 425 points over their last nine contests. As for Frenship, they will head out on the road to face off against San Angelo Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Angelo Central is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
