Volleyball Recap: Newington's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Newington had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the New Canaan Rams. While the Nor'easters didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Nate Parlapiano paced Newington's offense, picking up three kills. Parlapiano got some help from Bernardo Garcia DeFigueredo and his ten assists.

Newington's win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Newington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against Maloney on the 5th. As for New Canaan, they will challenge Westhill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The game will give the Rams their first taste of in-conference action this season.
