Kokomo is 1-9 against Lafayette Jefferson since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wildkats will be playing at home against the Bronchos at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Friday, Kokomo was fully in charge, breezing past Marion 50-22. With the Wildkats ahead 40-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Baris Moore was his usual excellent self, picking up 230 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while also punching in one score on the ground. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 111.8 receiving yards per game. Brixton Morris was another key player, gaining 89 total yards and two touchdowns.
Kokomo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Rahiem Greene and Brandon Humphries.
Meanwhile, Lafayette Jefferson waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Indians 77-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bronchos' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Indians are ranked 227th).
Kokomo better keep an eye on Trysten Barrett. He was instrumental in Lafayette Jefferson's win, throwing for 157 yards and five touchdowns on perfect 6-for-6 passing. Barrett has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Desman Deshazer, who rushed for 105 yards and one TD.
Lafayette Jefferson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in five consecutive games.
Kokomo's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Lafayette Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Kokomo took a serious blow against Lafayette Jefferson when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 45-14. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wildkats were down 45-7.
