Softball Game Preview: Fort Cherry Rangers vs. Carlynton Cougars

Fort Cherry is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Carlynton a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Fort Cherry Rangers will be playing at home against the Carlynton Cougars at 4:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fort Cherry managed to slip by Burgettstown the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rangers lost 17-2 to the Blue Devils on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Rangers have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Carlynton's offense. They came up short against Seton LaSalle on Monday, falling 21-0.

Fort Cherry's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Carlynton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Fort Cherry was able to grind out a solid victory over Carlynton when the teams last played back in May of 2019, winning 7-2. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
