Two more victories will send Allen into sole possession of second place on the list of all-time Texas winning streaks.

Allen extended its winning streak to 48 games with its most recent 38-28 victory over Marcus (Flower Mound). That victory ties Allen (5-0), No. 1 in the MaxPreps Texas Top 25 rankings, for the fourth-longest victory streak in state history with Lake Travis (Austin), accomplished in in 2007-10.

A win on Friday against Lewisville would extend the streak to 49, equaling the marks of Abilene (1954-57) and Carroll (Southlake) in 2004-07.

The state record of 68 by Celina in 1998-2002 remains safe for now.

Allen's last loss came on the road to Coppell in overtime in a Week 5 non-district game on Sept. 28, 2012, by a score of 27-24. Allen's next two opponents are Lewisville and Hebron.
