Basketball Game Preview: Arlington Red Devils vs. Carey Blue Devils

The Arlington Red Devils will face off against the Carey Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Arlington hadn't beaten Arcadia on the road since December 2, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them last Tuesday. The Red Devils had just enough and edged out the Redskins 49-47.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Carey's strategy against Bucyrus on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Blue Devils blew the Redmen out of the water with a 55-13 final score. The Blue Devils pushed the score to 52-12 by the end of the third, a deficit the Redmen had no chance of recovering from.

The win made it two in a row for Carey and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 34 points in those games. As for Arlington, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Arlington came up short against Carey when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 47-43. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
