Basketball Game Preview: Stansbury Stallions vs. Hillcrest Huskies

The Stansbury Stallions and the Hillcrest Huskies will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Stansbury is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Mountain View on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Stansbury was dealt a 57-30 loss at the hands of Mountain View. The Stallions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Hillcrest sidestepped Kearns for a 53-51 win. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Huskies were down 23-8 in the second quarter.

Stansbury better keep an eye on Addison Back. She was instrumental in Hillcrest's win, going 7 for 10 on her way to 19 points in addition to six steals and five boards. The dominant performance gave Back a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Haddock, who posted ten points.

Hillcrest now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Stansbury, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Stansbury against Hillcrest when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 58-23 win. Will Stansbury repeat their success, or does Hillcrest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
