Preview: Goose Creek Memorial vs. Sterling
The Goose Creek Memorial Patriots will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against the Sterling Rangers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.
On Friday, Goose Creek Memorial narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Crosby 2-1. The win made it back-to-back wins for Goose Creek Memorial.
Meanwhile, Sterling kept a clean sheet against Barbers Hill on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Eagles out 1-0. The result kept Sterling happy, as they haven't lost a game since January 23rd.
Their one-goal win came courtesy of
Jefferson Rodriguez, which was the first he's scored this season.
The victory got Goose Creek Memorial back to even at 3-3. As for Sterling, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5-2 record this season.
Everything went Goose Creek Memorial's way against Sterling in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 as Goose Creek Memorial made off with a 5-1 win. Will Goose Creek Memorial repeat their success, or does Sterling have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
