Basketball Game Preview: Bluffton Bobcats vs. John Paul II Golden Warrriors

The Bluffton Bobcats will venture away from home to challenge the John Paul II Golden Warrriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Bluffton barely beat Hilton Head Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bobcats simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Eagles 86-57. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bobcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Bluffton relied on the efforts of Harry Skinner, who shot 57% from the field on his way to 20 points along with eight assists and six boards, and Carnell Warren, who went 6-for-8 en route to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Skinner now owns an excellent 41.4% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Malcom Gordon, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 10 points and eight boards.

Bluffton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask John Paul II). They blew past Thomas Heyward Academy 103-22 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

John Paul II now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Bluffton, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Bluffton skirted past John Paul II 54-51 when the teams last played last Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
