SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) recap October 1, 2013

King Academy extended the longest winning streak in SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) this week by beating Greenwood Christian, 38-16. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Knights.

The Hawks' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Aidan Waters threw for 30 yards and Najee Martin had 33 yards receiving. On the ground Noah Hinzman chipped in 227 yards.

Greenwood Christian's dynamic duo of Waters and Martin proved to be unstoppable against King Academy, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Hinzman was a passing and rushing force as Gary Gillion's team lost to Zach Matthews' team. Hinzman's favorite target this week was Martin, who caught 2 passes for 33 yards.

Hinzman was a beast in the backfield as the Hawks fell to the Knights.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, King Academy's Alex Berry and Price Carpenter have proven to be a lethal combination. Berry has thrown for 635 yards this season, while Carpenter, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 7 catches for 262 yards. Caleb Hinzman from Greenwood Christian leads the league in rushing with 636 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Carolina Academy and Richard Winn Academy. The Bobcats enters the contest ranked third in the state, while the Eagles ranks 10th.

Wardlaw Academy led SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) in scoring this week by notching 52 points on Andrew Jackson Academy.
