Baseball Game Preview: Wilson Area Warriors vs. Northern Lehigh Bulldogs

The Wilson Area Warriors will head out to challenge the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Wilson Area comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Wilson Area is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 12-5 to Lehighton on Tuesday.

Braden Benevides was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Shaun Danielson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Northern Lehigh didn't have quite enough to beat Notre Dame-Green Pond on Tuesday and fell 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered against the Crusaders since April 24, 2015.

Northern Lehigh saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coy Daubert, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Daubert hit this season.

Wilson Area's record now sits at 0-4. As for Northern Lehigh, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Everything went Wilson Area's way against Northern Lehigh in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Wilson Area made off with a 22-0 victory. Does Wilson Area have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northern Lehigh turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
