Baseball Game Preview: Alhambra Moors vs. Mark Keppel Aztecs

Alhambra is a perfect 10-0 against Mark Keppel since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Moors will host the Aztecs at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Alhambra took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand San Gabriel a 13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Moors, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Enicio Torres was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Escobar, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Alhambra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Mark Keppel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of Schurr.

Mark Keppel's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12-1. As for Alhambra, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Alhambra got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Mark Keppel by a conclusive 20-1 score. Will the Moors repeat their success, or do the Aztecs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
