Volleyball Recap: Souhegan Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Somersworth

Souhegan faced Somersworth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Sabers came up short against the Toppers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Sabers have suffered against the Toppers since September 22, 2016.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Somersworth scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-23.

This is the second loss in a row for Souhegan and nudges their season record down to 7-3. As for Somersworth, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
