Elyria Catholic is 2-7 against Holy Name since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Panthers will host the Green Wave at 5:00 p.m. Elyria Catholic will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Elyria Catholic's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Beaumont School. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by nine runs or more this season.

Kailey Tomasch and Harper Morgan were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Tomasch tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Morgan didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. At bat, Tomasch scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Morgan scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Morgan a new career-high.
In other batting news, Nadia Pagan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lillian Ciryak, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Elyria Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaumont School only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, Holy Name earned a 14-9 win over Padua Franciscan on Monday.
Holy Name got a massive performance out of Aubrey Stephens, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Kylee Blinky was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.
Elyria Catholic pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.1 runs this season. As for Holy Name, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Both Elyria Catholic and Holy Name just can't seem to miss. The Panthers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Holy Name struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Elyria Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Holy Name in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 5-1. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Green Wave have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
