Basketball Recap: 15 Straight Home Wins for Northside

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northside). They came out on top against the Fayetteville Bulldogs by a score of 77-65 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Grizzlies sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Northside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Erianna Gooden out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Schmidt, who went 8 of 13 on her way to 23 points and eight rebounds.

Northside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.

Northside pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Fayetteville, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-5.

Northside and Fayetteville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings. Northside (ranked fourth) will meet Bentonville (ranked 26th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.1 points per game this season. Similarly, Fayetteville (ranked 16th) will meet Rogers (ranked 120th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
