Softball Game Preview: Brookfield East Spartans vs. Whitnall Falcons

The Brookfield East Spartans will head out to challenge the Whitnall Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Monday, Brookfield East didn't have quite enough to beat Kettle Moraine and fell 3-2.

Layla Diehl spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Brookfield East saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annie Bennington, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, Whitnall unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Kenosha Tremper by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Falcons have suffered since April 12th.

Brookfield East has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Whitnall, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.
