Basketball Game Preview: Freeman Scotties vs. Upper Columbia Academy Lions

The Freeman Scotties will face off against the Upper Columbia Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Freeman is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Freeman is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Warden: they outscored them in every quarter. Freeman strolled past Warden with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 59-41. Given the Scotties' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Cougars are ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Taylee Phelps, who dropped a double-double on 46 points and 16 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. Logan Pecht was another key player, putting up four points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.

Meanwhile, Upper Columbia Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a blow against Liberty, falling 65-18. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Freeman pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Upper Columbia Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
