It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Point Pleasant Beach ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Wall Township Knights. The win was familiar territory for the Garnet Gulls, who have now won four contests in a row.

TOMMY CONROY made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched nine innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on DANNY LUBACH, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

Point Pleasant Beach's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Wall Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-4.

Point Pleasant Beach and Wall Township should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Garnet Gulls (ranked 59th) will meet Pinelands Regional (ranked 238th) at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wall Township will square off against Manasquan at 3:45 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (17 vs. 188).
