The Laney Buccaneers will square off against the Millbrook Wildcats on Friday. Laney is coming into the  game hot, having won their last 16 games.
Laney is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Tuesday. They came out on top against South View by a score of  7-2.

 TJ Ziermann spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Carston Wedemeyer was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jason Sproull, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
Millbrook's found some homefield redemption this week after a  overtime loss to Wakefield on Tuesday. Everything went the Wildcats' way against Heritage as they made off with  an  8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Connor Wright made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   five  hits. Wright was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.
 Wright wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Smith Dickinson, who  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI. Another  was  Finn Clougherty, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.
 Laney pushed their record up to 20-4 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Millbrook, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record  this season.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Laney has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 9.6  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Millbrook struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 7.4  strikeouts.
