Softball Recap: Mclaurin Has No Trouble Against Raymond

McLaurin barely beat Raymond the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The McLaurin Tigers were the clear victor by a 17-4 margin over the Raymond Rangers on Monday. The game was the first time the Tigers have beaten the Rangers on their field since February 25, 2017.

Lillie Hogg spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Brooklyn Irby was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Cassie Chatham was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

McLaurin now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Raymond, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, McLaurin will welcome Scott Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Raymond, they will head out to face off against South Pike at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
