Basketball Recap: Menendez Comes Up Short

Menendez lost against St. Augustine back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Menendez Falcons fell 53-40 to the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 579th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 122nd).

Menendez's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for St. Augustine, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Menendez will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Varsity Opponent on January 3, 2025. St. Augustine also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Leon at 12:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
