Football Recap: Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs vs. Harrison Hoyas
Kennesaw Mountain unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Harrison Hoyas on Friday, falling 49-14. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.
Chris (Smooth) Miller and Lamarri Robertson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. (Smooth) Miller threw for 217 yards and one touchdown, while Robertson gained 107 total yards and a touchdown.
Harrison found their leader in sophomore Aiden Watson, who rushed for 72 yards and one score on only six carries, and also threw for 193 yards and one TD while completing 76.5% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Dj Huggins, who gained 111 total yards and two touchdowns.
Kennesaw Mountain will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sprayberry at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Harrison, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-21 victory against Wheeler on the 22nd.
