Basketball Game Preview: Elba Bluejays vs. Palmer Tigers

Elba and Palmer are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2020, but not for long. The Elba Bluejays will host the Palmer Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Elba is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Newman Grove/St. Edward on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Elba had to suffer through a 64-15 loss at the hands of Newman Grove/St. Edward. The Bluejays were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-13.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palmer). They claimed a resounding 79-39 win over Elba. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Palmer's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Elba, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Elba was taken down by Palmer 79-39 in their previous meeting last Tuesday. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Elba was down 45-17.
