Basketball Recap: Mid Valley's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

Mid Valley lost against Valley View back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Sunday. The Mid Valley Spartans took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley View Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Cougars are ranked 48th).

When it comes to explaining why Mid Valley lost, don't look at Demaja Dunston. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Lesher, who posted eight points.

Mid Valley moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Valley View, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mid Valley will venture away from home to take on Riverside at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Valley View, they will head out to square off against North Pocono at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
