 Homer-Center had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  an  11-10  victory over the Derry Trojans. For Homer-Center, this counts as revenge for the   12-3 loss Derry walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in April of 2022.
  Owen Saiani made a splash no matter where he played. He  struck out seven batters over  3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Saiani was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in five of his six plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last four games he's  played.
 In other batting news, Homer-Center got a  massive  performance out of  Dom Shimko, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Brayden Rado, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-5.
 On Derry's side,  Brady Angus made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored three  runs and  stole four bases while  getting on base  in five of his six plate appearances.  Jon Wasnick was another key contributor,  going 2-for-6 with a  triple and a  stolen base.
 Homer-Center has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record  this season. As for Derry, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Homer-Center will  take on West Shamokin at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Homer-Center is facing West Shamokin at the right time seeing as West Shamokin is stuck on  a  four-game losing streak. As for Derry, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Valley at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Derry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6  runs per game  this season.
